Oceanside Police Department Shuts Down Two Illicit Massage Businesses Following Yearlong Investigation

Post Date:10/20/2025 10:00 AM

OCEANSIDE, CA — The Oceanside Police Department’s Special Enforcement Section (SES), Vice Unit, in partnership with the City’s licensing department, City Attorney’s Office, and Code Enforcement, has shut down two massage businesses following a yearlong investigation into reports of illicit activity, specifically involving prostitution.

The investigation began in September 2024 after community members reported human sex trafficking activity taking place at two local massage establishments. Over the course of several months, SES detectives conducted multiple operations at both locations, which resulted in the arrest of several employees of the businesses for prostitution. Detectives conducted more than two dozen interviews with employees, all of whom were treated as potential victims of human trafficking. However, the individuals declined services at the time but were all advised to contact the Police Department if they desired services in the future.

The two businesses are Nirvana Spa, located at 3320 Mission Avenue, Suite Q, and Seaside Acupressure, located at 560 Greenbrier Drive #103. The owner of both businesses is no longer permitted to operate within the City of Oceanside, and the business licenses to both locations have been permanently revoked.

“These closures send a clear message that businesses engaging in illegal activity will not be tolerated in Oceanside,” said Oceanside Police Chief Taurino Valdovinos.

The Oceanside Police Department remains committed to identifying and addressing human trafficking and exploitation in all forms. Anyone with information related to similar activity is urged to contact the department’s Vice Unit at (760) 435- 4900 or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
