Lieutenant Weese was born in and raised near Cleveland, Ohio. He first came to California while serving in the United States Marine Corps. Lieutenant Weese attended the 49th Regional Police Academy in 2001 and began his career as a Police Officer with the City of Oceanside later that year.

Lieutenant Weese has served in several assignments including, Patrol, SWAT, OPD Honor Guard, Crisis Negotiations Team, and Investigations. He was selected to be a Detective in 2007 and assigned to the Crimes of Violence Unit shortly after where he served until he selected for promotion to Sergeant in 2011.

After being promoted to Sergeant, he was assigned as a field supervisor in the Patrol Division. In 2012, he was selected to serve again on the OPD SWAT Team. In 2013, he was selected to supervise the Gang Suppression Unit, and in 2018 he was selected to the position of Professional Standard’s Unit Sergeant where he served until promoting to Lieutenant in May of 2021. Lieutenant Weese is a 2023 graduate of the FBI National Academy Session #285.
