Gina Avalos serves as the Police Media Relations Manager for the Oceanside Police Department. With a background in broadcast journalism and a passion for public service, Gina brings a unique blend of storytelling, strategic communication, and community engagement to her role.

Before joining OPD, Gina worked as a news reporter in California's Central Coast and later transitioned into law enforcement public affairs, previously serving as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Santa Maria Police Department. There, she helped lead a department-wide social media rebrand and strengthened public trust through proactive communication and community programs.

Gina holds a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Fresno State and was born and raised in the Central Valley. She is dedicated to highlighting the work of OPD officers, managing media relations, and ensuring transparent, accurate communication with the public.
