Born and raised in Oceanside, Lieutenant Jon Dominique is a proud graduate of El Camino High School, Class of 1997. He attended both Palomar and MiraCosta Colleges before earning a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from California Coast University.

He began his career with the Oceanside Police Department in 2007 after graduating from the 72nd Regional Police Academy and was sworn in as a Police Officer that October. Over the years, he has served in several specialized roles, including Patrol Officer, Uniformed Gang Suppression (4.5 years), and Detective in the Special Enforcement Section (7.5 years). He also dedicated 15 years as a member of the SWAT team.

In December 2021, he was promoted to Sergeant, where he served in both Patrol and the Professional Standards Unit. In May 2025, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and was assigned to the Patrol Division.
